About
A curious mind.
A practical approach.
I’m Abdirahman, an Information Technology student at Aalto University. I like turning an unclear problem into something useful, understandable and easier to work with.
I. What I’m working towards
I’m completing my B.Sc. (Technology) in December 2026, finishing the three-year programme in 2.5 years. My major is Information Technology and my minor is Computer Science. My bachelor’s thesis is completed.
I’m interested in AI and software engineering roles where I can build, test and improve practical solutions alongside experienced colleagues. I work with Python, machine learning and the web, with a particular interest in simplifying manual workflows.
II. Beyond the code
Teaching has made clear communication a part of how I work. At Aalto, I assisted with Computer Science teaching in autumn 2025 and the Electromagnetism Laboratory in early 2026. I also work as a substitute teacher and special education substitute for the City of Helsinki.
At Swappie, I progressed from Production Specialist to Repair Expert, then took on Team Lead duties alongside repair work. I led a group of six to seven people and helped summer employees learn phone repair.
Those experiences taught me to stay practical, help people move forward and take responsibility for a shared result.
III. The way I think
I’m drawn to the question behind a task: why does this take so long, what is really needed, and could the process be simpler? I like making a first version, examining where it fails and improving it with evidence.
The projects on this site show that process. You can try the interfaces, inspect the code and read the reasoning behind the results.
Let’s talk.
